Many of the products we use in our day-to-day lives come packaged in some form of bag or carton, whether it’s our breakfast cereal, dog food or cleaning products. While we may pay little attention to this packaging, knowing its ultimate destination is most likely the bin, it is often the result of highly intricate manufacturing methods.

Rovema GmbH has been producing versatile packaging machines since 1957, from individual machine components to full turnkey systems. As a market-leading manufacturer delivering worldwide from its base in Fernwald, Germany, they offer innovative packaging solutions for a wide range of industries and applications in both the food and non-food sectors.

Their selection of packaging machines includes tubular bag machines that are designed to form, fill, and seal bags in one single, efficient process. These machines are exposed to heavy loads and high production rates and Rovema, therefore, required a durable solution when looking to replace their filling units, needing them to be easily accessible when necessary but also safe and secure during production.

Rovema relied on their long-time partner Heyman GmbH to find the perfect answer for their requirements. Forming the German branch of the Onkenhout Group, Heyman is an experienced distributor of access and fastening solutions such as closures, connectors, and slides. Using their in-depth industry knowledge, they recommended our DZ9301-U-E slide and DBHAND locking handle kit.

The 9301 is a heavy-duty slide with a load capacity of up to 272kg, making it ideal for the high load-bearing needs of this application. Additionally, it has full extension capabilities up to 1.5m, making the contents of the drawers quick and easy to access and replenish, while optional bracket accessory kits allow for various mounting options that suit the client’s exact requirements.

The DBHAND locking handle provides additional security for the drawers, helping to meet industry safety regulations. Needing a 120N push force to unlock, it keeps the drawers securely closed throughout production, with a lock-out option also allowing for the drawers to be locked in their extended position. This lightweight handle is easy to both install and use, and its natural corrosion resistance makes it long-lasting, even with rough use.
