About Accuride

Accuride is a global designer and manufacturer of movement solutions. For over 50 years, we’ve engineered movement systems into cabinetry, machinery, and other applications around the world. Learn more about our journey below.

1958

1958

Fred Jordan, a longtime engineer, founds a tool-and-die company in Burbank, Calif. That company soon becomes Accuride.

1966

1966

Growing demand, growing space: Accuride moves to a large facility in Santa Fe Springs, Calif., where it remains headquartered to this day.

1971

1971

Accuride reaches across the Pacific, opening a dedicated facility in Kyoto, Japan.

1975

Accuride invests in the United Kingdom, opening a facility in the English town of Northampton.

1980

1980

Accuride designs the Model 3000, its first telescopic slide. The 3000 uses a 3-member design for an extended length, as well as premium craftsmanship for smooth movement. The 3000’s success sets Accuride’s direction as a premier designer and manufacturer of movement hardware.

1984

Fred Jordan, Accuride’s founder, retires after two decades of leadership. Fortunately, he leaves behind a team of capable leaders to keep the company always moving forward – its eventual tagline.

1985

Accuride introduces the Model 3800, the most popular telescopic slide in the world. The 3800’s full-extension, smooth-functioning, long-lasting design make it the de facto standard in light-duty drawer slides. The 3800 Series soon underpins everything from filing cabinets to vehicle compartments.

1990

1990

Accuride introduces the Model 3600, its first heavy-duty slide. The 3600 handles loads over 200 lbs., more than double that of the 3800.

1994

Accuride expands just across the border, opening a facility in Mexicali, Mexico.

2005

2005

Accuride designs its first undermount slide. The design conceals hardware underneath a drawer, providing a clean and uninterrupted esthetic.

2006 ALT tag

2006

Accuride opens its next international facility in Suzhou, China.

2009

Accuride designs the aluminium series slide, its first super heavy-duty slides. Beyond just immense load capacities, the aluminium series features light-weight and corrosion resistant aluminum components.

2017

Accuride designs its first slide for pyrolytic ovens.

2019

Today, Accuride has nearly 1 million square feet of manufacturing space around the world and is the largest company dedicated to the innovative design and manufacture of sliding hardware.
